A drop-in group for pregnant women and new parents with babies up to a year old. Provides individual and peer support for pregnant women and postnatal mothers and resources and support to new parents. Resources cover issues such as the importance of early secure attachment, nutrition, suggestions for healthy lifestyle choices, breastfeeding, prenatal and postnatal mental health challenges, baby development, and parenting. Assists and supports parents in building parental capacity. Participation is voluntary for parents and caregivers of children and youth up to age 19. Individual counsellors work with parents and caregivers to strengthen family life, leading to healthy child and family development. Groups are available on a regular basis to support parenting skills and promote understanding of healthy family relationships. Free and confidential services by appointment. Suncoast Midwifery services families along our coastline, from Langdale to Pender Harbour, providing comprehensive midwifery care including early pregnancy care, labour and birth in hospital or home, and care for mother and baby up to six weeks after the birth. No referral required.more info
