Esther Kane Counselling Services
I provide compassionate, professional counselling for adults (19+) across British Columbia who are struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional eating, food addiction, and challenging life transitions. I also specializes in helping women navigate the emotional and psychological challenges of perimenopause and menopause.
Menopause and Perimenopause Counselling
Hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause can affect much more than physical health. Many women experience increased anxiety, low mood, irritability, sleep difficulties, changes in self-esteem, and a sense of losing touch with themselves. I provide a supportive space to explore these challenges, understand the connection between hormonal changes and emotional well-being, and develop practical strategies for feeling more balanced, confident, and in control.
Anxiety and Depression Counselling
I help those who experience persistent worry, overwhelm, sadness, low motivation, self-criticism, and difficulty coping with everyday life. My approach combines compassionate exploration with practical, evidence-based strategies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, regulate difficult emotions, improve self-esteem, and develop healthier ways of responding to life's challenges.
Emotional Eating and Food Addiction Counselling
For people who struggle with emotional eating, compulsive overeating, food cravings, or feeling out of control around food, I offer a compassionate, non-diet approach that addresses the emotional and psychological factors underlying these behaviours. Rather than focusing on willpower, restriction, or shame, we explore how stress, emotions, past experiences, and habitual patterns influence eating. Together, we work toward developing healthier coping strategies, reducing guilt and shame, and creating a more peaceful, balanced relationship with food.
My Approach to Counselling
I believe that meaningful change begins with feeling heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. My counselling style is warm, collaborative, practical, and tailored to each client's individual needs and goals.
Whether you are navigating a difficult life transition, feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or depression, struggling with the challenges of menopause, or struggling with your relationship with food, my goal is to help you gain greater self-awareness, develop effective coping tools, and experience more confidence, emotional well-being, and satisfaction in your life.
I offer confidential online counselling to adults throughout British Columbia, making professional support accessible from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
