Bellies and Babies - Gibsons & Sechelt
A drop-in group for pregnant women and new parents with babies up to a year old. Provides individual and peer support for pregnant women and postnatal mothers and resources and support to new parents. Resources cover issues such as the importance of early secure attachment, nutrition, suggestions for healthy lifestyle choices, breastfeeding, prenatal and postnatal mental health challenges, baby development, and parenting.
Programming offered at Gibsons and Area Community Centre (700 Park Road, Gibsons) and in Sechelt at The Family Place (5520 Trail Ave.)

Circle of Support
Provides free support, training, and consultation for parents and caregivers with children and youth up to age 19 with Complex Developmental Behavioral Conditions (CDBC) and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Services include one-to-one support; groups and support circles; and advocacy. Training and education is available for parents, caregivers, and service providers who work with children/youth. Children and youth who have a diagnosis or symptoms of CDBC (where two or more areas are significantly affected: social emotional functioning, communication, physical functioning, independence, and intellectual or academic functioning) are eligible for the program. No referral required.more info
Family Support Services
Assists and supports parents in building parental capacity. Participation is voluntary for parents and caregivers of children and youth up to age 19. Individual counsellors work with parents and caregivers to strengthen family life, leading to healthy child and family development. Groups are available on a regular basis to support parenting skills and promote understanding of healthy family relationships. Free and confidential services by appointment. No referral is required.more info
Infant Development Program (IDP)
Supports families with children from birth to three years old who are at risk for developmental delay or have a diagnosed disability. Works with families to develop skills that encourage their child's development, to connect with a variety of services, and access a full range of social, educational, and community experiences. Program includes home visits, assessments, play groups, and other activities. Hours vary; see website for details.more info
Parent-Tot Drop In - Gibsons & Sechelt
A free family resource program that offers a stimulating play group for children from birth to age six. Provides a place where parents can take a break from their home routine, connect with other parents and caregivers, and have fun playing with their children. Families can also access community resources, parenting information, and one-on-one support. Childcare providers and the children they care for are also welcome.

PEACE (Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling and Empowerment) Program for Children & Youth Experiencing Violence
Provides free individual and group counselling for children and youth ages three to 18 who have been exposed to family violence. Helps children and youth understand their emotions, discuss their trauma, develop a safety plan, recognize their strengths, increase their self-confidence, and understand that they are not responsible for the violence. Also provides individual and group support for the non-offending parent and caregivers. Serves the Sunshine Coast. Program hours vary. Funded by Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).more info
