Emery is a homegrown boy of the Sunshine Coast. He completed a bachelor of Political Science at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2004. He then pursued his studies in dentistry at UBC and graduated in 2010. Emery has since been practicing dentistry in Gibsons with his father Donald, DMD, and mother Mary, RDH, BDSc. Emery engages in all aspects of dentistry including root canals, implants, major and minor restorative care, oral cancer screening, aesthetic dentistry while continuing to educate himself at courses in Canada and the United States. Emery also has a passion for volunteer dental work in his local communities and abroad. Emery has travelled to Mexico, Cambodia, and twice to Brazil to provide dental care for those less fortunate. He has also provided care at the Native Health Center on the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. Emery will provide outreach in the community to care facilities such as Christianson Village to consult with staff and see residents.
